Prerequisites for boarding
Here at Wrangler Farms we have learned that in our area there are certain prerequisites to maintaining a healthy horse. These items are listed below in terms of treatment and the options available to accomplish them.
We require that all horses be on a de-worming regimen which includes a daily de-wormer and a paste de-wormer administered twice a year ( usually by a veterinarian .)
We also require that your horse be on a Sand Colic preventative regimen. This area is sandy and pasture grazing almost ensures that a horse will ingest a certain amount of sand. We recommend that a product such as SandClear or Sand Relief be used.
We suggest that all boarders obtain their SandClear etc. in "SmartPaks" these are ordered by and paid for by you on a one-time basis to be renewed as specified to ensure that you don't run-out. They are sent in a 28 day quantity, pre-measured and pre-sealed in individual packets for administration at feeding times.
If you choose not to purchase SmartPaks, you can buy the product that you wish to use, measure it out into ZipLock bags and we will administer at feeding times.
We offer both Strongid C2X and SandClear until you are up and running with SmartPaks or purchase and pre-measure your own.

Veterinary Services
We utilize the services of Dominion Equine Clinic of Suffolk Virginia a very qualified group of veterinarians. This practice is headed by Dr. John Sangenario Jr. DVM. He and his other vets arrive in well appointed vehicles containing all of the medicines and equipment to provide a full on-site service. In the event of more serious problems, we are equipped to take the horse to their facility for whatever it takes to get them off of the sick list.
Ferrier Services
Kevin Meile (CJF) is our Certified Journeyman Ferrier
Horses, not unlike people, all have their various needs. Wrangler Farms offers the supplements that are required either on an "as needed" or continuing basis. These are the most commonly dispensed supplements but we can obtain others as required by the individual horse.
These prices include the cost of the supplement and dispensing to the horse.
